I adore illustrations of birds, although being a non artist, I do struggle with getting the shape just right for crafts etc..
Luckily my son and I found this great article in a Subject book for children at the local wild flower centre, so we can now make our own templates and decorate as we wish.
It is really simple lines and basically built up from 2 circles, either with a compass or anything circular you can draw around. Once you have the basic shape you can add and take away elements to stylise your own birds.
